Job Description

Milgard Windows and Doors, the leading manufacturer of premium windows and doors in the Western United States, has an opportunity for an individual passionate about Quality. Due to a promotion, the Fiberglass Pultrusion Plant in Fife, Washington is seeking a strong candidate to join our Quality Team as a Quality Technician.


The Quality Technician has the exciting opportunity move an already existing high quality product to an even higher level of customer satisfaction. In this role, an individual will be tasked with collecting and analyzing quality data then collaborating with key production leaders throughout the Milgard organization to move the quality needle.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process Audits (40%) – perform process audits of equipment setup and conditions to ensure quality criteria is achieved. Assist production in identifying root cause of defect trends and making recommendations on corrective or containment actions as appropriate.
  • Product Audits (40%) – perform in process and final inspection of raw and finished fiberglass sticks.
  • Non-Conforming Material Disposition (5%) – identify and segregate non-conforming sticks for disposition.
  • Quality Reports (5%) – reviews reject and defect trends with production leadership and ensure quality score from inspections and audits is leveraged to implement improvements.
  • Problem Solving (10%) – in collaboration with production leadership, recommend problem containment and/or corrective action through collection, preparation and analysis of quality data. As problems and issues arise, report the information to production leadership.

Milgard is seeking a candidate with 2+ year of experience in a manufacturing environment, where quality control tasks were a central part of the job duties. Candidates will need a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.


Viable candidates need to understand basic statistic controls and seven (7) quality tools. Also, the ability to understand and work in a quality culture where customer satisfaction is top priority. As a Quality Technician, the ability to make decisions to sort, scrap and/or shut down a production line according to quality standards is essential to being successful in this role with Milgard. Excellent customer service and strong written/verbal communication skills are important as well.
