Production Level 1 – V5 - Day

Are you ready to start your manufacturing career? Exciting entry-level opportunity in our Vinyl 5 Department (Tuscany)! This is for our day shift (6:00 AM - 2:45 PM & OT). This individual will be responsible for preparing helping to make our windows for our Tuscany Series Line. Tuscany Windows add a beautiful touch to any house, providing energy-efficiency and our very own "Smart-Lock" system. If you like hands-on work with a GREAT workout, this may be for you! Learn how to create window frames, insert glass units, conduct quality inspections, wrap and complete our award-winning windows. This is not easy work - We are looking for someone with energy, focus and drive! Someone who pays attention to detail, who can work at a steady pace 8-10 hours a day on their feet. Any construction, manufacturing or painting background is preferred!


This is a full-time position with benefits and monthly bonus potential. You may be required to work Saturdays.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Production workers must be able to understand instructions whether they are written or verbal, and follow instructions. They are to complete their work with accuracy and efficiency. They must be able to construct windows and doors in all different phases. The nature of all production positions is repetitive motions for extended periods of time as well as prolonged periods of standing.


KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that the following commitments are met and improved upon as outlines in the MPS (Mgt. by Objective) Plan Document: On-Time Delivery, Quality, Units per Employee Hour, Safety, Housekeeping, and Waste.
  • Incorporates Milgard’s vision and values into day-to-day activities and behaviors; guides and motivates others to remain committed to the Milgard philosophy.
  • Adheres to all facets of safety policies and procedures.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • One year of production experience or similar preferred
  • One to three years of work experience
  • Knowledge or safe work practices

ESSENTIAL ABILITIES:

  • Operate various tools (ex. power drill, saw, hammer)
  • Read a tape measure
  • Math skills
  • Meet department commitments
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged standing up to 8+ hours a day
  • Repetitive motions: bending, stooping, pushing, grasping and pulling up to 8+ hours a day
  • May be required to lift, push, pull 50lbs frequently
  • Hand dexterity and strength at or above shoulder level: up to 8+ hours
  • Overtime is required, including weekends

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work performed in a warehouse type facility with temperatures subject to change based on outside condisitons: cold to heat environmental conditions.
