Milgard Windows & Doors, headquartered in Tacoma, Washington, and nationally recognized as the leading manufacturer of windows and doors in the Western United States, has just created a new position for a Materials Engineer in our Corporate Headquarters. This opportunity is for the individual who wants challenge and to be part of a growing, expanding successful company.

In this role we are looking for someone to improve our products by exploring and proposing new materials, products, techniques and processes not currently in use in our products.  Majority of the work will be project focused.  Work will be concentrated on solving a given problem statement within a stated timeline by locating and combining existing technologies into a practical, cost efficient solution that can be implemented into our products. 

The ideal candidate for this role must have 5-10 years’ experience and will have a degree in Materials Science, previous successful experience in project management, and an ability to work within cross-functional teams as well as individual accomplishments and a strong ability to solve problems. Must demonstrate proven leadership skills, organized with good attention to detail, and superior written and verbal communication to facilitate polished presentation skills.
