Job Description

The Expeditor checks glass units and hardware for quality and accuracy to ensure customer requirements are met. The Expeditor stages all necessary material for the Service Technicians to help them accurately and efficiently perform their job on a daily basis



KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Match and marry all service orders to finished goods material (glass units and hardware)
  • Perform visual quality inspections to ensure all material is made to match the service order and SOF
  • Locate all missing material in the warehouse and production plant to ensure technicians have all the material needed for the next day
  • Stage all SLO route 9 material and turn over to the warehouse twice a week
  • Pull, package, and ship all Part M orders (DIY orders) in a timely manner
  • Occasionally assist technicians with 2 man jobs. By carrying oversized glass units and door panels
  • Work on ladders and scaffolding
  • Deliver material to technicians when it is not ready before the technician leaves on his route
  • Constantly monitors personal and surrounding work area to ensure that areas are clean and free of hazards. Maintains all equipment and tools in peak operating condition, calls for maintenance as needed, and constantly inspects machinery for damage
  • Creates and executes MPS plans, meets MPS commitments and works within the guidelines of MPS; reflects Milgard’s business values and the Milgard philosophy in all business interactions
  • Incorporates Milgard’s vision and values into day-to-day activities and behaviors; guides and motivates others to remain committed to the Milgard philosophy.
  • Adheres to all facets of safety policies and procedures.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Window experience preferred but not required

    EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATION/FORMAL TRAINING:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license (one point max)

    ESSENTIAL ABILITIES:

  • Ability to read, write, and apply basic math skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to problem solve and locate lost material

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged standing and repetitive motions, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling
  • Required to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs
  • Hand dexterity and strength
  • Overtime is required, including weekends
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Fast paced production environment in manufacturing facility
  • Elevated noise levels requiring the use of safety protective devises
  • Seasonable cold/hot depending on season
  • Work surfaces are concrete. Personnel will stand while performing their respective job functions, for up to 12 hours a day
  • Drive a Milgard service vehicle
  • Work in the field at customer residences
  • Work outdoors in cold/hot weather
