Job Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

A Production Worker performs work activities in relation to the cutting, coating, fabrication, assembly and tempering of glass products. Must be able to understand instructions whether they are written or verbal, and follow said instructions. Must complete work with accuracy and efficiency. The nature of all production positions is repetitive motions for extended periods of time.


KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In performing all duties, the Production Worker is expected to properly use all safety equipment, protective gear and manufacturing equipment, and follow all safety procedures.
  • Perform departmental activities per standard operating procedures.
  • Read tags to verify material type, color, and size are correct.
  • Produce all products with minimal breakage and acceptable levels of quality.
  • Inspect all product to ensure it meets quality expectations prior to forwarding to next operator.
  • Participate in maintenance of equipment and clean up of work area to ensure safety and productivity goals are met.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Previous experience in high pace, heavy manufacturing environment, preferably window manufacturing desired.
  • One or more years of work experience and demonstrated job stability.
  • Glass handling and/or glass knowledge a plus.

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATION/FORMAL TRAINING:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.

ESSENTIAL ABILITIES:

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to read a tape measure.
  • Good hand eye coordination and the ability to discern colors.
  • Ability to work in, and promote, a team environment.
  • Prolonged standing and repetitive motions to include bending, stooping, pushing and pulling
  • Capable of lifting up to 75 pounds on a regular basis
  • Overtime is required, including weekends


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work performed in a manufacturing type facility with temperatures subject to normal environmental conditions, which fluctuate in temperature extremes from + 32oF to + 120oF.
  • Hearing protection, Hard hat and safety glasses required; additional safety equipment provided based on specific job.
  • Work surfaces are primarily concrete with anti-fatigue mats provided where feasible. Personnel will stand while performing their respective job functions, for up to 12 hours a day.
  • Must be available to work up to 12 hours a day, including some weekend work.
