Job Description

We have created a new position in our Corporate Finance and Accounting team: Director of Manufacturing Finance and Costing. This position reports to the Vice President/ Chief Financial Officer of Milgard Windows & Doors.

Primary role is to lead and direct seven plant controllers and the cost accounting teams in a multi-manufacturing site environment to maximize financial results for both plant management and regional sales and service teams.

Provide leadership to include goal setting, career development, coaching, resource optimization, recruiting/hiring, and training.

Work with cost accounting team in establishing new Oracle cost accounting system including development of standard based system for labor and overhead.

Work cross functionally to assess opportunities to improve margins and cost inputs.

Work closely with plant controllers and Milgard’s Continuous Improvement (CI) Team on implementing CI and Lean tools into all aspects of Milgard’s business.

Guide plant controllers and cost accounting team in annual operating plan process.

Oversee cycle count process and annual physical inventory counts.

Oversee plant controllers and cost accounting with month-end close process including related inventory journal entries. Direct plant controllers on the forecasting process.

Work closely with Corporate Controller and FP&A team to develop insightful and accurate profitability analysis.

Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance.

Education required:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field required. Master’s degree and/or certifications a plus.

Experience required:

10+ years at manager or Director level experience with multi manufacturing plant and direct report environment required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities required:

Strong understanding of financial systems and processes

Strong research, analytical, strategic and problem solving skills

Initiative and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently

Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills

Travel requirement approximately 20% to manufacturing plants in OR CA CO and TX
